Happy Saturday... I pray that you rested well last night and are excited about the fact that Sunday is coming. I watched several 7 Last Words messages yesterday and one thought keeps ringing in my head....It Was Necessary. I know that many wonder why Christians celebrate Good Friday. To some, it may seem oxymoronic. Isn't this the day that Jesus Christ died? So, why do we call it Good Friday? What is good about the death of Jesus Christ? What is good about Him being hung up on a cross? What is good about Him being beaten beyond recognition? The bible says that at the appointed time, "....Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.." Jesus was born to die for you and for me. John 3:16 reads, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Jesus died so that you and I could live. It was His Ultimate purpose. He died so that we might have life and that more abundantly. It was necessary, for without the crucifixion there could be no Resurrection. Sunday is coming... weeping may endure for a night, but JOY is coming in the morning.
So, as we reflect on the cross today, remember that It Was Necessary. The Lord loves us Above All...That's Love. No Greater Love
